This photo was a couple of days before the new Golden Oak Outpost was ready to open up. This sign is quite impressive. Taking a second look at it - the old kerosene lamp is only one light, two more spots are hidden behind the gold mining pans. Nice way to hide them and tie back in the "gold" theme.

LA Cinema Storage

Next time you are waiting for the rope drop at MGM wander on over to LA Cinema Storage - there are some interesting props hanging from the rafters. I hadn't really gone in there in years for some reason and was surprised by the themeing, cinema storage is right!

The Cantina de San Angel and San Angel Inn are staples in the Epcot eatery scene. The restaurant and cantina are modeled after a hacienda built way back in 1692 and the date can be found in the archway above the Cantina queues...

The old radar relector that welcomes you to Condor Flats is decorated with their logo... If you look closely at the plane's shadow you'll see that it is actually a condor, the wings help give it away. The collector (which, at least when I've been there, still rotates) and light stands look like they really are out at some desert airport that stays alive by piecing everything together...

Bwana Bob's

There is something about the name Bwana Bob's that is just comical. The little stand sits near the entrance to Adventureland and while it isn't anything that really stands out it that name is one to remember.

Will Call tickets

Who's Will and why does he need to call? Ok, enough bad humor for today, I promise. The will call ticket signs at the Epcot entrance are perfect examples of the Future World sign styles - Prototype font, classic Epcot logo (which I'm so glad they brought back) and the shades of blue/white/gray that make up much of the entry plaza.

At Disneyland Space Mountain, thanks to the Astro Orbitors being on the ground now, is the highest thing in Tomorrowland. And the landmark icon looks sharp at night with its hues of blue and white the building shoots toward the sky and invites guests to go for an intergalatic adventure.

A trip to Narnia

The behind the scenes look at the Narnia movies has been an interesting attraction for the last few years. Tucked in the corner of a soundstage it isn't the biggest or flashiest attraction but all the same it still grabbed decent crowds. With Disney no longer producing the Narnia movies this attraction will be fading but with any luck they'll keep the idea and bring a new behind the scenes attraction into the same space...

HIdden Mickey - pond drain style

In Japan there are some very tranquil ponds near the Yakitori House. If you look close you'll see an overflow drain or two. And in the center of the drain? A hidden Mickey... I'm not sure if there are other drains like this around the parks, this was the first time I've seen them.

Plaza del Sol Caribe

The Plaza del sol Caribe Bazaar is located next to Pirates and you roam through it on your way out of the ride. It's namesake plaza carries this little street sign that one can find as they are about to entire either the plaza or the queue for Pirates... Plaza del Sol is Plaza of the Sun in Spanish so this would be the Caribbean Plaza of the Sun...

This tropical recycling logo can be found around the Carribean Beach resort. So after you are done sipping on that beverage in the sun be sure to pitch it in the right container...

Dekstop: Temple in the sky

Apologies for the lack of desktop yesterday - some technical difficulties delayed me but I'm back! How about a ride on Expedition Everest today? The temple on your way up the mountain is quite spectacular both inside and out. And the Tibetan prayer flags in the foreground are a very nice touch. They seem to be quite very common at the base camps around Everest, if you look at photos you can often find them in the background. Stay tuned for the regularly scheduled trash can update later today...
