On this spot 40 years ago...

While everyone is standing around taking photos of the castle there is a plaque in the sidewalk that goes pretty much unnoticed. Right below your feet is a time capsule, placed under the sidewalk on the 40th anniversary and scheduled to be opened in 2035. It would be interesting to see what is contained in it considering what all has changed since 1995...

Wow...

How amazing is that!

Great find. Did you stumble upon it or did someone show it to you?

This was one of those lucky finds, we were standing near it and happened to look down. You have to wonder how many people even know it is down there since it is pretty easy to miss!

I'm going to be at DL shortly...can you give me an idea where it is?

Sure thing! It is in the red-paved sidewalk around the outside of the hub. If you line up with the center of the drawbridge it is in the middle of the red paving bricks. Scaling it off aerial photos and trying to rough in exactly where it is, I would say it is almost halfway between the center of the hub and the center of the castle.

Have fun in DL, it is a toasty -10 right now here in Minneapolis so that sounds esp. nice right now!
