Plan your trip
Time to plan your next vacation! These maps, inc. the centerpiece from the Santa Fe Railroad are located under the Main Street station. There is also some luggage stored above the maps. I can't figure out who RL Nicholas is and if he has ties to the Santa Fe or Disney or both... Any ideas, folks?

Ah yes... the RL Nicholas box. Glad to see someone else other than me has seen it, stared at it, and been frustrated with whom it makes reference to. I spent a great deal of time researching this (especially when working on my Main Street CD), but hit dead ends everywhere. Not to mention asking Cast Members who just looked at me like I was... well... insane. "Just go ride the rides, dude!" was pretty much the look on their faces.
So while sitting down and chatting with Dave Smith from the Disney Archives one evening, I asked him specifically about this box. And I got an answer that let me "close the book" on this case (pardon the pun).
He said (*paraphrasing): "You know, Lou... we gather props, antiques and artifacts from a variety of sources around the world, including garage sales, swap meets, etc. And you know..."
(and here's where I was waiting for the big reveal - who IS RL Nicholas??)
"You know Lou... sometimes a box is just a box, and doesn't really mean anything."
Dave Smith said it, so it was good enough for me. :)
(I just needed closure) LOL
Keep up the great work on the blog.
